Super Aguri SA07 launch

Super Aguri SA07

Today Super Aguri launched its challenger for the 2007 season in Melbourne. The team say the SA07 is the result of the collaboration between the Peter McCool lead SAF1 Team Design Department and Honda’s Research and Development center in Tochigi, Japan.

The car features the new Honda engine that is a considerable step ahead, both in power and reliability for the Super Aguri F1 Team. It will be accompanied by a carbon seamless gearbox also delivered by Honda.

The team say their biggest challenge for the aero team was the modifications that had to be made so the car withsttod FIA’s new crash test. This resulted in a new nosebox design and a modified rear central diffuser design. The main focus in 2007 will be to increase rear-end downforce.

SA07 will make its race debut in this Friday’s free practice sessions.
