Stepney also provided race reports to Coughlan

Stepney Ferrari

Every day something new surfaces in the Stepneygate affair. Today, Gazzetta dello Sport is writing that more and more evidence is pointing at Stepney.

In the incriminating file, there weren’t only the F2007 designs but also all the 2006 GP data and, it seems, the first races of 2007. We are talking about a file that includes telemetry of the two cars from Fridays to Sundays, tyre temperatures in different conditions, setup and aerodynamic details, the engine management and much more. This is a small technical treasure which is worth more than the entire F2007 project. From the investigation, it remains to be seen if anyone else from McLaren did see these reports or if they only remained in Stepney’s file - which in this case, easily had access to these files due to the work he was performing.

Let’s not forget that before 2007, Stepney only reported to Todt and Brawn, and with Brawn gone, and possibly some negligence from Todt, he was able to carry out the alleged fraudulent tasks.
