Massa trains hard in Brazil

Ferrari F1 driver Felipe Massa is currently in Brazil, carrying out a program of physical training in a farm in the center of the country, where the hot climate will help him face the strong heat of Malaysia, both at the next test session, in two weeks, and during the second Grand Prix of the season on the 8th of April.
“I am at a friend’s farm in the center of the country, where it’s extremely hot. It was a deliberated choice, since the next race will take place in Malaysia, which has a hot and humid climate. My trainer is here with me and he planned a program [in order] to accustom me with this situation “, Felipe said.
Massa believes he could have challenged Raikkonen for victory, had he started at the front, alongside the Finn:
“If I had started from the front, it could definitely have been a very competitive race between me and Kimi”
Massa is not disheartened about his slow start of the season, though: “On the other hand, I think about events last year when there were so many races where we just threw away so many points, but this time at least, even after a bad result on Saturday, we were able to finish by bringing home some points”.
According to Massa, one of the factors that harmed his chances of scoring a better result during the race were to have been stuck for many laps behind the two Honda cars of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello. “The car was difficult to drive in certain parts of the race”. “When I caught up the two Hondas, my life suddenly became more complicated, especially because of the fact that Rubens did not pass Button [for a while] and both were very slow. This ruined my chances to fight with the Fisichella ” said the young Brazilian.
With the first race of the season behind, Felipe believes that the pre-season testing results were reflected in Australia. “After the race, to be honest, the results of the winter tests had been confirmed: McLaren are a little better that the others, but a little behind the Scuderia, and BMW is closely behind. I expected it to continue to be that way the next few races “, Felipe Massa concluded.
