After a not-too satisfactory fifth place in the Australian Grand Prix - coming in 66.8 seconds behind Kimi -, pilot Giancarlo Fisichella was interviewed about the race. He said that “we need to work a lot for the future obviously”, which doesn’t explain why this work wasn’t done before the start of the season. “That was the maximum.” isn’t a very reassuring line for Renault fans. Also see what the pilot had to say about the battle out of the pit line with Jarno Trulli. Well, at least his debut wasn’t rubbish.

Fisichella is the most mediocre talent to have a top ride. Almost any of the mid level drivers (Trulli, RS, barrachello, Coultard) would do much better than he has done. He makes lots of mistakes and doesnt push enough to run with the front runners even though he has a great car. I hope that Renault repaces him very soon with someone who is capable of driving there terrific cars to a higher level.

Let’s not be too hard on the guy - he’s only been racing for 10 years…

Yeah, unfortunately he’s not a top class driver. I kind of feel pitty for him, ‘cus I’m sure he realises how `good` he is, and now all the press is pointing the canons at him (for good reason) :).

Que coisa ridícula essa óculos do Fisichella. Parece um palhaço.
