Ferrari remain on top at Montmelo
MONTMELO (Spain), May 2nd 2007 - Ferrari continued to shine in the F1 test taking place at Montmeló. After the performances of Kimi Raikkonen in the last couple of days (the Finn left the circuit very satisfying with the innovations on his car), fastest today was Felipe Massa. The Brazilian tested for the first time the new aerodynamic solutions for the F2007 and helped by the improved weather conditions he completed a total of 106 laps. His fastest was a 1′ 21″506.
CRASH FOR NICO - the news of the day was however Nico Rosberg’s great crash . The German of the Williams in the course of the his installation lap, at 9,30 am violently destroyed his single-seater crashing at turn 7. The driver was taken to the infirmery. Then he was flown by helicopter to the Hospital of Catalunia for further checks. Nico then returned to the circuit in the afternoon: all was good. Not the same about his car: totally destroyed. Keke’s son took a big risk today.
