Renault boss, Flavio Briatore said he was baffled by the verdict taken by the FIA council at Paris, which saw no sanctions applied to McLaren, despite having illegally possession of classified Ferrari documents. He compared the decision to the one of Pontus Pilate and Jesus’ crucifixion.

In what was one of the eloquent statements of the day was: “I too would have liked to know Ferrari’s weight distribution”, which says everything about the advantage acquired by McLaren by being in possession of the Ferrari designs.
