Fresh F1

Not long ago a rumor started spreading about South Africa’s bid to host a Formula 1 race in 2011. It is now reported Singapore also wants to join the annual F1 calendar, and as early as 2008!

If the project is approved next week, Bernie Ecclestone will travel to the South-East Asian state later this month. The `Today` newspaper quoted a `source` who confirmed the the project will have government support.

The same newspaper writes the Singapore Grand Prix will be the first F1 night race, on a street circuit. The anonymous source added `it could either be the third race of the season, or towards the end of the season in August`, explaining he is bound by a non-disclosure policy.
